You’ve been considering signing up for The FODMAP Challenge… but you’re still sitting on the fence. Here are some FODMAPs FAQs to help you decide:
FODMAPs FAQs:
-
$199 – that seems expensive… doesn’t it?
The FODMAP Challenge is a program that goes for 12 weeks. 13 if you count the final week where we discuss introductions and testing tolerance levels. Meal plans and recipes are just the tip of what you get. Every week there’s video and written instructions, plus a live Facebook chat in a private group each week. Only current or previous participants (and The FODMAP Challenge team) are part of this group. And, you can ask questions within the group at any time. If you feel you need further support than this, one on one consults with myself are offered at a discounted rate. Two sessions with a dietitian will cost approximately $200, (and most people need approximately 6 sessions), with this is costing around $16 per week, (or 4 coffees per week), it really is great value for money!

How much support will I get?
There’s plenty of contact throughout the course of the program. However I really want to highlight just how much assistance you will receive. Questions can be asked at any time from start to finish. Removing foods from your diet can often feel difficult, and be socially isolating. Knowing others are going through the same thing makes it that much easier, meaning you won’t just get support from dietitians who who work with people with IBS every day, you’ll also be getting support from other people who are going through exactly what you are.

What are the meals like?
We’ve spent many hours in the kitchen developing suitable meals, along with three types of meal plan. One with plenty of variety, one with less variety, and a ‘build your own meal planner’ as well, to make planning your week, that much easier. Recipes usually take no more than around 30 minutes to prepare, and are (mostly) simple to make, no matter your skill level. We are adding to our recipe database all the time as well. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are all included, so there is a mix of delicious things you enjoy!

What’s in the goodie box
Everyone loves free stuff… and the goodie box we have for you is filled with delicious things to try, that will all be suitable for your gut! Previously there’s been olive oil, peanut butter, tea and turmeric powder. We are exploring different wonderful things all the time to help you know what great things there is out there to try!
-
What about the other things that make my IBS worse, like stress and poor sleep?
The FODMAP Challenge doesn’t just focus on food, as there are other great ways of managing IBS. We spend the first part of the program discussing ways of managing stress and improving sleep. Plus a new addition is a whole host of videos from our in house exercise physiologist/dietitian Kate Bennett specifically to help improve your belly.
